标题: COMPLET RECYCLING OF CONCRETE: A SUCCESFULL FRENCH R&D NATIONAL PROJECT
摘要:

France produces around 30 Mt/year of concrete rubble from demolition, which are mostly used in road works or embankments. In the near future, less new roads will be built and more old buildings will be deconstructed. Additionally, more than 50 Mt of mixed demolition materials containing a good quantity of concrete or natural rock is also available. Hence, it is necessary to make the best use of this available material to preserve the natural resource, whose access is increasingly difficult, and to prevent waste material landfill. Based in this reality and with the aim of showing that it is possible to recycle demolition concrete for making good new concretes as well as to use the fine part of recycled concrete aggregates in cement production, a national R&D project, partially sponsored by the French Ministry of Ecology, was set in 2012. It gathered 47 partners, representatives of all construction stakeholders, including industrials and academics. Its acronym is RECYBETON, from "RECYclage complet des BETONs" (Complete Recycling of Concretes). Recently finished, RECYBETON has produced fifty-two research reports, a recommendation guide to build with recycled concrete, proposals to adapt standards and regulations for increasing the use of recycled concrete, and six experimental demonstration sites built on a real scale. The results of this complete research are fully described in two scientific books: "Concrete Recycling: Research and Practice", in English, and "Le béton recyclé", in French. The main outputs of the project are presented in this lecture.

Keywords: recycled aggregate, recycled cement, recycled concrete.
