标题: Preparation, characterization and application studies of advanced anticorrosion coating materials

In this lecture, we explore the preparation, characterization of three distinctive advanced anticorrosive coatings (including nanocomposite materials, electroactive materials, and biomimetic materials). In the nanocomposite coatings, we present the preparation and characterization of a series of composites containing different nano-fillers (such as metal oxides, clays, and graphenes). In the electroactive coatings, a series of aniline oligomer-based polymers (such as electroactive polyimide, polyamide, polyurethane, epoxy resin) were synthesized and characterized. In the biomimetic coatings, we present the preparation and characterization of a series of polymeric coatings with the surface structure of natural leaf by nano-casting technique. The anticorrosion performance of all three distinctive advanced coatings was performed by a series of electrochemical measurements (such as Tafel, Nyquist, and Bode plots) in saline conditions.

Professor Jui-Ming Yeh completed his bachelor's/master's degrees in chemistry from Fu-Jen Cathodic University at Taiwan in 1988/1990, respectively. In 1996, he received his PhD degree in materials chemistry of Drexel University under the guidance of Dr. Yen Wei in USA. In 1998, Professor Yeh joined the department of chemistry of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) as a full-time assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor and full professor in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He served as a distinguished professor at CYCU for three consecutive periods in nine years from 2012 to 2021. In recent years, the research interests of professor Yeh have focused on the application of nanocomposites, electroactive polymers, and biomimetic materials in metal corrosion prevention, supercapacitors, bio-scaffolding, electrochemical sensing, and gas sensing research. Up to now, Professor Yeh published ~ 200 internationally renowned SCI journals, of which 49 are highly quoted articles and have been cited a total of ~ 8,000 times. (data obtained by google scholar)
